Best Dash Cams Of 2016

Looking for the best dashboard cameras of 2016? We’ve compiled an overview of this year’s favorites, presenting models of various types and for different budgets.

UPDATE: We’ve got a new article up with the best dash cams of 2017!

Starting at the upper end of the price spectrum, we’re going to have a look at a couple of high quality dual channel cams (front and rear). Next, we’ll have a look at some of the very best single channel dash cams. Single channel cams typically record better video and are easier to install than their dual channel counterparts, but of course they can only record what’s going on in front of your car.

Finally, we’ll present what we deem to be the best low-cost dashboard cameras currently available, for those of you looking to buy a decent quality camera for less than $100.

Note that this article is work-in-progress, and will continue to be until the end of 2016: Our selection will be updated throughout the year whenever a new dash cam comes to our attention that we think should be included here.

Mini 0903 – Smallest And Best Of The Mini Series

Mini 0903, the most compact of the Mini series so far

Not only is the Mini 0903 the latest release of the very successful Chinese Mini series, it is also quickly turning out to be the most popular one. The reason for this is its high image quality, combined with features like time-lapse parking mode, Wi-Fi, CPL filter mount, optional GPS, and the fact that it has a capacitor instead of an internal battery, improving durability and temperature resistance.

While it doesn’t record at resolutions higher than 1080p like the Mini 0806 can, we prefer the Mini 0903 because it’s smaller and records better quality video than its predecessors.

This camera is currently cheapest at GearBest. Note that for a limited time only, GearBest are offering an 18% discount if you enter the coupon code CAR18OFF at checkout.
