Owners, and future owners, of Vantrue dash cams will be interested to know that there’s a new accessory out for Vantrue dash cams: A remote control that you can place in a convenient location, so you can now lock files and do a couple of other tasks without having to reach over all the way to the dash cam.
A good place to put this would be on or near the steering wheel.
Supported functions are:
- Lock video
- Take a snapshot
- Toggle audio recording on / off
Unlike some other remote controls (notably by Viofo), the Vantrue remote button connects to the camera over Wi-Fi, not Bluetooth. User experiences have been overwhelmingly positive so far.
The device is quite small, measuring 1.49″ x 1.18″ x .39″ (that’s 38mm x 30mm x 10mm).
Note that the button doesn’t work with all Vantrue dash cams. Compatible models are: Vantrue E1, E1 Pro, E2, E3, E360/ACE, N2X, N4 Pro, N5, and S1 Pro.
