70mai M310 Plus 4K Review
One of the most trusted dash cam brands in 2026, 70mai have presented a true 4K dash cam that cuts cost to a bare minimum. It does without a lot of extras and supports only a bare minimum of features. It doesn’t even have GPS!
Since there’s no screen, either, you can control it either over Wi-Fi with your phone, or by giving it voice commands.
Obviously, voice commands come in super handy while you’re driving. No buttons on the camera itself, except a power button.
Here’s a list of the commands that the camera will understand:
- “Take photo”
- “Lock the video” (saves the current video to a protected folder)
- “Turn on / off audio”
- “Turn on / off hotspot”
That’s enough for daily usage. To configure settings and review videos, you need to use the app and connect to the camera over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
What we really like about this camera though, is that it records 4K video at the lowest imaginable price. Let’s find out how good its video quality really is.

Day Time Video Analysis
If you’re watching this on a 4K screen, you will notice how easy it is to read the license plates of the car to the right at 0:13. The same is true for the van up ahead at the 0:25 mark.
However, later in the video there are many instances where we have to pause the video to read plates. At 1:36, while driving toward the sun, we are still able to read the plate of the car ahead without pressing pause.
As for the environment, all details are clearly visible, and the colors look natural.
Here’s another sample video:
This one was recorded at 1440p instead of the native 4K format. Nonetheless, we can clearly read the license of the car ahead at 0:05 as well as later at 0:23.
Overall verdict for day time video: Good (3.3/5), because we can read most license plates by pausing the video. And n ideal circumstances, we don’t even need to press pause, so we’re giving 0.3 extra points.
Night Time Video Analysis
(This is the same video as above, night driving starts later in the clip.)
At 5:41, we can read the license plate of the blue car without pausing. This is pretty good for a dash cam video at night.
The plate of the (stationary) gray car just after that is blurry, however. This is due to the difference in relative speed. Same thing with the oncoming cars later in the clip — we can’t read plates even when we pause the video.
Same happens on the country road later: We may be able to read a plate occasionally when the relative speeds and angles are right (like at the 6:08 mark), but in most cases the license numbers are unreadable.
As for the environment, vision is good for a night recording, but there is some glare from traffic lights and other light sources.
Our score: Fair (2.3/5), since license plate readability is hit and miss. 0.3 extra points because in some cases license plates are really clear even without pausing the video.
Total Video Score
Our total video score for the 70mai M310 Plus is 2.8/5. This is a pretty good score for a camera that’s often available below $50.
Recording Time
This camera works with microSD cards up to 256GB in capacity. With a 256GB card, you have enough space to record about 16 hours of video at 4K resolution.
Parking Mode
To run the M310 Plus in parking mode, you need a corresponding power supply (not included). Any of the UP03, UP04, or UP05 hard-wiring kits will work, but since the M310 Plus doesn’t support cloud connectivity, 70mai’s UP03 kit (Amazon affiliate link) is your best choice at about $30.
User Manual
The user manual for the 70mai M310 Plus is well written, in good English. At about 30 pages, it is not too long, but goes into sufficient detail to explain the functionality of the device well.
Conclusion
This camera is a steal if all you are looking for is a device that records good video for the lowest possible price. It doesn’t come with any extras though, so if you want things like GPS, buffered parking mode, or cloud connectivity, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
Downsides are that there’s no physical lock file button, so you’re reliant on using the voice command. Also, having a battery and not a capacitor makes the 70mai M310 Plus more vulnerable to overheating.
