Vantrue N5S 4CH dash cam
Vantrue’s N5S 4-channel (4CH) dash cam was released in 2025, as an upgrade of the Vantrue N5. Arguably the most important improvement is that the N5S features Starvis 2 sensors across all 4 channels. The older N5 only has one Starvis 2 sensor, for the forward channel.
Cloud
Also, the N5S is the first 4CH dash cam to support cloud connectivity. With Vantrue’s LT01 cloud module (available separately), you can access features like live streaming video to your phone, alerts from your parked car in case of an incident, and more.

There are a couple of other changes between the N5S and N5. Here’s a complete list:

You will notice that the resolution of the rear exterior channel of the N5S is 1440p, as opposed to the N5’s 1080p. Resolutions of the other 3 channels (front exterior, front interior, and rear interior) remain unchanged: 1080p for the interior channels, and 1944p for the front exterior one.
We can also see that the N5S uses a different mount than the N5. Should you choose to upgrade from the older model, you will therefore need to install the new mount.
Video Quality
Overall video quality has improved slightly, from 2.8 points to 3.0 points. Our scoring system goes from 0 (poor) to 5 (excellent). A score of 3 means good video quality on average, and you should be able to read most nearby license plates.
