Price Analysis II: Best Low-Budget Dash Cams 2026

This is the second article in our Price Analysis Series.

In the first article, “Price Analysis: The Best Quality Dash Cams In 2026“, we established that for a good quality dash cam you should calculate around $100 per video channel. So that would be $200 for a front-and-rear system, and $400 for a state-of-the-art 4-channel dash cam.

But what if you’re on a tighter budget? That’s what part II (this article) is about.

We’ll show you a number of car cameras that cost you significantly less than $100 per channel. While these models generally have fewer features and record lower-quality video than the more expensive ones, they are nonetheless reliable options for those of you who can’t (or don’t want to) spend more.

Let’s have a look!

Images are not to scale

As you would expect, the video quality from these cameras is generally lower than the ones featured in the first part of this series. However, given their much lower price point, they can nonetheless represent good value for budget-conscious buyers.

The Viofo A229 Plus is a notable exception: It records very good video across all three channels. That performance comes at a higher cost, though, so it’s more expensive than the other models listed here.

How Our Video Scoring System Works

Scores go from 0 to 5, averaged across day and night recordings for each channel. A score of 0 means almost no detail is visible, while a 5 means every detail is clearly captured.
