BlackVue have upgraded their old and trusted flag ship camera, the DR970X Plus, with a few features. The new camera is known as D970X Plus II.
Most importantly, Pittasoft have finally added HDR to both channels. This should improve video clarity. Unfortunately the Series II camera only just came out, so we don’t have enough video samples yet to make a qualified assessment.
Here’s a summary of the key differences between the DR970X Plus II and the DR970X Plus.
- DR970X Plus II supports HDR
- Faster boot time (14 seconds vs. 24-36 seconds)
- Storage: Up to 1TB (older model: 512GB)
- Upgraded CPU
- USB-C 12V power adapter instead of cigarette lighter (it comes with an adapter so you can still plug it into the cigarette lighter)
The image sensors are the same. Front and rear resolutions are also unchanged (4K + 1080p).
